Diabetes
Diabetes Education: Individual and Group Sessions
If you are newly diagnosed with diabetes, our center for education can teach you the skills you will need to make better food choices, plan enjoyable exercise, monitor your blood glucose levels, understand the medications you are taking, and prevent complications. If you have had diabetes for some time, come to us to become a better diabetes self manager. We see patients individually Monday through Friday
and teach group classes on Tuesday evenings from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Insulin instruction will be given with a written order from the physician stating the type and dosage of insulin.

Alternative Birthing Center Orientation Class
Find out more about choices in childbirth. The homelike setting of the Alternative Birthing Center is designed to support women during water birth and other noninterventive births. This class is a requirement for using the Alternative Birthing Center. Free.
This class will be offered in the LDRP Classroom on the sixth floor, except on January 28 and March 25 when it will be held in Classrooms A-D, located on the lower level.

Breastfeeding Class
Learn breastfeeding techniques, answers to commonly asked questions and information on the benefits of breastfeeding for mom and baby. Fee: $30.
This class will be offered in Classrooms A-B, located on the lower level.
Prepared Childbirth
This five-week series teached the stages of labor, slow birthing techniques, comfort measures, positions for coping with labor and developing confidence in your body's ability to give birth. Fee: $80 per five-week session.
The Family Birthplace Tours
Tours of the Irvin & Margaret Houck Family Birthplace are available every Wednesday and the third Saturday of each month. For more information, call 708-763-6622.

Breathing techniques, meditation and self-hypnosis are among the strategies that will be explored. Space is limited to 10 participants. To register, call Dr. Iacono at 708-763-2120.
