Accreditations
Dedicated to providing quality care, West Suburban Medical Center continues to receive praise from national organizations for meeting health care standards:
- The West Suburban Snoring & Sleep Disorder Center was re-accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Identified as the gold standard for sleep programs, the AASM accredits 773 sleep medicine centers and laboratories across the country.
- The Inpatient Oncology Program and the Center for Cancer Care were awarded accreditation by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. As one of 1,400 approved cancer programs in the U.S., West Suburban Medical Center's Inpatient Oncology Program and the Center for Cancer Care were recognized as offering the very best in cancer care.
- The West Suburban College of Nursing was one of 34 nursing schools in the U.S. selected to participate in a national demonstration project to develop and offer a new master's degree in nursing known as the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) program.
- The Family Practice Residency Program received formal approval from the American Osteopathic Association as an accredited residency program for applicants interested in obtaining a doctor of osteopathy license.
- The Main Laboratory and the Medical Oncology Laboratory received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists.
- West Suburban Medical Center completed its first accreditation survey with the Health Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP).
- West Suburban Medical Center's Midwifery Services is one of the largest in the area. Certified Nurse-Midwives are Master's prepared and accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
- West Suburban Medical Center's Center for Breast Care in River Forest was awarded a three-year accreditation in Mammography by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
